These are my babies, now four days old. They are no longer all white and now you can see a definitive eye. Dad has been removed so as not to eat them and has been doing ok. He's a little stressed though.

I know it's a pretty crappy picture but it's damn hard to focus on something so small :D

They're baby Siamese Fighting fish (Betta Splenda). The first lot died within 24 hours since I had no idea what I was doing and there was something wrong with the water. Congrats on the fry surviving so long :D Bummer about the parents though. Were they stressed at all?

oh Siamese Fighting. Too bad about the first bunch :(

I don't think my guppies were stressed at all. They all were very energetic and eating happily and swimming around. But for some reason, the males died one a week (i had 3) for no reason. They just stopped being so energetic. The females all died after giving birth, 2 got something that looked like dropsy, but dropsy doesn't kill in one or 2 days, and one died of fin rot attacking it body directly...

I don't know how they got the infections because my water is clear, I checked for ammonia, nitrates and nitrites which are all 0.

Ah well... I have many snails... they won't stop reproducing, and I didn't even buy any o_O and also my shrimp. My 2 Bloodfin Tetras are doing fine though :)

I love fish :P

I'm addicted to them too. We have 4 tanks and over 70 fish last count :D That's weird about them all dying. We had a few of our fish die and we still don't know the cause. The first couple were due to a fungus and I think one was due to some sort of bloating that causes organ failure. My partners brother is an expert on aquarium stuff though so it helps.

So many fish! I just have my one tank... I want to get a giant tank so I can get schools of fish, but I doubt my parents would allow me.

I believe bloating due to organ failure is causes dropsy. Apparently its the easiest disease a freshwater fish can get... and the most grim...

Lucky having an expert, I live in taiwan and no one speaks english and I don't know ANY aquatic terms in chinese other than water. And I'm supposedly fluent in mandarin xD

:lmao: What about a school of Neon Tetras? We have them in our main tank - it's only a 65 liter though

I prefer Bloodfin to Neon, I like the transparency :) I dont know how much my tank holds, but its small, and can hold 8 fish :P

But I have 11 fry... o_O

How big is your tank? One way to tell how many fish you can fit is if you line them up head to tail along the front of your tank. Imagine how many would fit and that's normally how many you can keep safely.
